What is it? Various items

Those little items with the screw holes and ribs look sort of like "C" pillar trim pieces where a roof comes down to a body. I have seen them before....just cannot remember on what. Is there a "DPCD" logo on them? They look to also have a bird on the front??!!

I think 28 Chrysler is right on the identification of part 3719579. I see it listed in my Chev parts catalog for 1955 under group 9.746. There is only one per car and it is described as "COVER, instrument panel steering gear jacket". I think it is a decorative trim piece for the bottom of the steering column. It may also fit 1956, but I my catalog only goes to 1955.

By the way, I have a similar part #3745338 (pictured) which I think is also a steering column cover for a GM application. It is about 10 3/4 inches overall length and appears to be a zinc die cast. I expect this is a bit newer than 1955 - likely late '50's or early '60's, but I don't have parts books for this era - does anyone recognize this one?
