Ivan Saxton
They are early small size Houk; ie the size you would want for an Essex 4 if you wanted to create a replica of Norman (Wizzard ) Smith's special. I have also seen this size on early '20's Hupmobile. The size is too small for anything like Stutz.
Jim Rohn
so they are a generic aftermarket wheel for the teens & 20's?
Ivan Saxton
I doubt many people other than those building T Ford speedsters had access to aftermarket wire wheels and hubs that could be easily fitted. Wire wheels were often optional equipment on many cars. Very few except the cheapest allowed no choice.
Layden B
Actually Houk Wire Wheel offered their product for any car as an aftermarket accessory. This is from their catalog and shows a listing for 1912 and 1913 Stutz cars which is significant because Houks were a new product offering on the market in later 1913 for the 1914 automobile model year.In case your car was not listed in the catalog, this paragraph was included.
