Need help determining carburetor model/usage

My friend has found some more Packard treasures in his garage. The only identification on the carb is on the top of the bowl--it reads Packard Carburetor on top and Packard Motor Car Detroit Michigan on the bottom. There are 3 indentations below Michigan but I can't distinguish any letters/numbers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

Jeff —

The carb you documented so well photographically fits a 1928 Packard 526, (6 cyl.). It may have been used on other years or models but it is an exact match for the carb on my very original 526. Yours appears a bit cleaner and better preserved. Mine works just fine, but I can appreciate the better appearance of your example. I would attach a photo of the carb on my car, but I can't figure out the mysteries of posting photos under this newer software. If you send me your email address I will send you a photo for comparison. Email works just fine for me. My address is: pflaumer1@earthlink.net.

Later,

Pete P.
