That's a shame!!!

This truck won its' First Junior at Johnstown back in 2001, and if my memory serves me correctly, won its' 1st AGNM in Buffalo in 2004. This truck was at many of the same shows that my dad and I went to with our Plymouth truck, so we've been parked by this truck several times.

I have judged this truck a few times, and it is a very nice vehicle.

It's a shame when you see an owner part with something that nice. For the asking price, you couldn't restore it for that kind of money. I don't need another vehicle in my collection, but if someone wants a Divco, this would be a good one to get (if it's still as nice as it was in Cumberland last year).

Thanks for the nice complement. This truck has given my wife and I a lot of enjoyment. We have over 15 preservations with it. But its time to bring something else along and room must be made.

I've known a lot of people who have never been able to have even one nice vehicle at all. The refreshing part is that you're not parting with it due to health or financial reasons.

Have you tried one of the larger dairys?? Some of those large dairys might buy something like that for advertising and promoting their business.

My dad and I had a 1932 International oil tanker. We sold it to a guy who owned a heating oil business who just happens to run International trucks for hauling oil. He bought the truck, did a frame off restoration, and wrote the whole thing off on his business for advertising. In the summertime that's one of the best advertising tools and public relations tool money can buy. He puts the truck in parades and car shows and gets that truck out to promote his business.

The Rosenberger Dairy in Hatfield, Pa.(once owned by H.P. Hood) had a Divco when I did some work there. I don't know what happened to it, think, Hood sold the plant, might be worth a call up there to see where it went. 

I worked for Hood, the company bought the Crystal Cream dairy plant in Sacramento.  I was out there doing renovations, and in one of the outbuildings was a nice Divco truck.  I asked if it could be bought (since everyone knew I liked old vehicles), and the answer was no, it was being gifted to one of the big milk suppliers out there.

Mercer, I send you a PM with the email of a guy who has a ton of Divco trucks.

I believe there is a Divco club of sorts.

One of our local AACA region members is a 

specialist in stand-and-drive delivery trucks,

and has quite a few beautifully restored examples.

He has mentioned some Divco organization.

Maybe he's the same man that Steve (above) knows.

The grandfather on my neighbor (who used to own the farm I live on) ran a dairy from the 30's-the late 70's... had Divco trucks for the vehicles at one time. Currently all of them are sitting in a junk yard in the area not far from where they earned their keep!
