Guest Paterson Chris Posted September 28, 2009 Share Posted September 28, 2009 I spent the day at first investigating lubing the drive shaft since its been decades. I then thought I should just un-bolt the whole assembly to check the condition of the u-joints. Good idea as the rear yoke is toast. Can any major drive shaft shop still repair something from 1922 or will I be laughed out of the shop?Chris Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Steve Braverman Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 The universal joints in my Franklin are a type that are not rebuildable or replaceable. The local drive shaft shop made me a new drive shaft using the original end flanges. Made a huge difference in smoothness. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
