Grandpa
The attached photo was taken in San Diego. The photo seems to be the transportation of a liberty bell copy or perhaps the original bell on tour. What is the make of the touring car?Grandpa
Grandpa
The photo could be taken in 1918. The car's plate appears to be a 1918 California plate, which featured the Liberty Bell.Grandpa
keiser31
The radiator contour has the "White" look to it.
Guest Paul Christ
Here's a better picture of your bell. It is the Liberty Bell, and was in San Diego (Balboa Park) in November 1915. It traveled from Philadelphia to San Francisco for the Panama-Pacific Exposition, and later to San Diego for the Panama California Exposition. Grandpa
With Paul's tip, I was able to find another bell image taken that same day, but not another image of the car.Grandpa
1937hd45
The car looks to be a 1916 White and the truck with the bell is also a White. I never knew the Liberty Bell went on tour.
aacalifeer
It would be interesting to be able to see the passangers in the car. The man in the middle of the back seat looks interestingly familiar. Could it be Mr. Henry Ford ?
