old car fan Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 Hey folks ,need help.just bought a 47 conti cabro.Trying to get a good ,safe car.One we can tour with.Body is fair,or better,the more we dig into it, everything is riged .i really need a trans w overdrive .What do i look for.The car will be a driver,tourer untill we get time . abelincoln Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 Assuming your car is complete and unmodified, you should already have an overdrive behind the transmission. Maybe it doesn't work? old car fan Posted August 4, 2009 Author Share Posted August 4, 2009 The car is very complete .Still has the original V-12.Runs great,now,with some work.The tranny is out of the car for other repairs,od never did work,everything electrical has been repaired.Tore the tranny apart,od is bad shape.
