Steve Braverman
This was in my barn when I bought my house. I have no idea what it's for. It is made of bronze, has a cutting tool and will lock open and closed. The markings are:WS 2-2336.4 AL.150 MIL.The previous owner of the house was a potato farmer, if that's any help. oldford
Could it have been used to cut threads on the end of a wooden shaft? (similar to those on a broom handle)Frank
keiser31
I reminds me of a tool that would be used to cut the threads on the wooden pegs on the tops of the old telephone poles (insulator holders). There were insulators screwed to the wooden pegs.
