Collector car resale value?

I talked to a few people I know, and they said now is the time to buy cars because the prices are down. But IF you have to sell a car be perpared to sell for less than you have been paid last year. And no where near the book value.

My question is, is that the trend every where or just in

some markets. Car auctions seem to be almost the same as previous years, but that is for totaly restored cars.
