Guest 32tinindian
Can someone give me advice on gaskets and what is best for certain applications? I have a 32 Pontiac, and I'm putting it back as a stock driver. I need to replace a number of gaskets, but I'm unsure when to use paper, rubber cork or create a new one from a tube. I'm working on the transmission now and I'd like to solve a number of leaky problems while I'm in there. Any help is appreciated!
Bhigdog
For casting to casting I like Garlock gasket paper with a thin coating of permatex aviation non hardening cement. Lots of people use silicone form-a-gasket but I'm kind of old school here...........Bob
