keiser31
My great grandfather and his brother are here in 1922 showing off their new Essex touring cars. I think that they are 1922 models. Anyone know for certain?

Leif Holmberg
Seems to be 1922 becuse of the head lights and the door hinge.1923 seems to have "cylinder" shaped head lights and the door has hinges in front of the doors in my book. paulrhd29nz
Keiser,A great photo! I suspected that you came from good back ground, now this photo proves it. Those little ESSEX 4's were some of the greatest cars to come out of detroit! The cars are know later than 1922, as shown by the headlight style. In 1922 Hudson changed the Essex run mid year with only a few changes, late 22's came with the drum style lights, and the door hinges moved to the front.Other than that there is no real way to tell from a picture the differance between a 1919 and an early 22.We have a 23 and it is a blast to drive!( the last year of the 4's)Paul
