Tripp light

I found these lights years ago and never knew what or how they fit. Anyone familiar with this type mount?

Straining my memory, I have a fuzzy recollection of a thru the roof, top mounted spotlight, I believe by Trippe. Just maybe. Too bad the rest of the mounting, if any, isn't there for more clues. One pair of holes looks a bit egged out, as though it moved on a shaft there. If these have the bubble level on top, that would shoot down the spotlight notion.

Don Sommer, Clauson, Mich. is the Trippe light guru and probably knows exactly what goes here. His phone and fax numbers were 248-435-6115 and 248-435-4670 respectively, as inscribed on the back of the ACD Club 50th anniversary porcelain commerative license plate, which was made by his American Arrow Co.
