41oldsguy
I have a 1941 model 78 with bad hydramatic trans. I located a 1949 olds hydramatic and had my trans. shop clean it up & install new seals. My transmission mechanic called me and said when they went to put it in the bell housing from the 49 trans would not line up with my 41 straight 8 engine. Help?? Guest Bob Call
I'm sure the bellhousings are different but the trans itself should probably fit the 41 bellhousing. What you need is someone with a Hollander interchange manual that covers the years of 41 thru 49 and they can tell you whether or not the transmissions will interchange. Good luck. rkiddo
You don't by any chance have the converter cover from the 1941 transmission?
