Rusty_OToole Posted March 12, 2008 Share Posted March 12, 2008 This is what they called the MEL engine for Mercury Edsel and Lincoln.The E400 stands for Edsel 400 ft lbs of torque.It's hard to make out in the picture but the distinct characteristic of this engine is the fuel pump at the top front of the engine.It would be the optional engine for that car.Some info on the MEL:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_MEL_engine Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
