Guest connl
I recently bought some old H78-14 tires for my Olds. Tires were new, but white walls are discolored. I tried using Westley's Blech-White which remove some of the discoloration, but the white walls are still not white. Any recommendation on how to get them white again? Is there a paint I should try? Thanks. Larry.
Barry Wolk
Mineral spirits works great. There are better cleaners but mineral spirits actually melts away the top layer of yellowed white rubber, exposing unblemished white below. You have to be patient and keep it wet. I've used it on all my cars and it seems to greatly delay discoloration.
Ron Green
I have had success wet sanding them (use lots of water) with fine sandpaper though it is time consuming. This also works great for a curb blemish. Try a small spot first.
Twitch
There are tire brushes made out of short brass bristles that work great with whatever detergent you use. Easier to use than sand paper and last many years.
