Guest vintageozarks
A farmer out in Virginia was cleaning out his barn and came across a big box -- inside was a showroom visible hood for a 1950 Oldsmobile with paper still partially over the Plexiglas. These photos don't do it justice. The hood is covered with over 60 years of dust (even though it was in a box). When the paper was peeled back from the Plexiglas windows in the hood, it left marks which appear as scratches but it is just old glue. This hood is like new. However, he said it was a 1949 showroom hood but Olds made only all plastic, lift-off hoods in 1949. Now we don't know for sure what year it is. Olds made first metal hood with windows in 1950 but is this a 1950 hood? Info appreciated
