Layden B Posted November 28, 2007 Share Posted November 28, 2007 The large diameter part is an actual flywheel and magneto field coil from a Model T Ford. When cranked by hand it puts out the same voltage as a car would supply and is used to check and adjust an ignition coil which is inserted at the bottom. It is a hand-cranked coil tester, and the meter can also be hooked to a car to test the magneto. Rare items, they usually sell between $500 to $1200 on e-bay depending on condition - the higher price being a restored unit, the lower is a realistic expectation for your machine.
