Valve Seat erosion

I have just stumbled upon the fact that newer Buicks had a device called a

valve rotator. Can anyone tell me if and when this device was first used on Buicks,

and was it ever used on 4,6 and straight eight Buicks.

This device is used to slow the erosion of valves and seat seats.

I am buying a 1937 Buick and the current owner said I would need to add lead to the vehicle?? Is this true?? I also own a 1925 model 47, does this need lead added to the fuel?

Thanks, Jeff

I searched for a post on the Valve Seat Erosion problem but could only come up with this one which is in the same vein. I am wondering if the problem is on the lack of Valve Rotators and not truly the lack of valve seat lubrication only? To clarify the Rotators on some newer cars go here!
