Moparbob
Solenoid went out today. Have to jump across large and small lugs. Nobody has them. Talked to Andy Bernbaum's parts guy- was told VERY hard to get, and if found, would be mucho $$$$. Neutral safety is stuck in closed position, or by-passed. Starts in any gear since I bought the car. Ever heard of a rebuild kit for these, and if so ,where are they? Car has a flathead 6, six volt, positive ground. Might run a seperate starter button inside car. Funky/Retro kinda thing. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bob.
Guest JohnArthurSpinks
Do you mean that you are shorting the large terminal that has the battery cable on it to the small terminal on the starter solonoid that would normally be energised when you try to start from inside the car.If this is the case and the starter then operates it indicates that the fault is not in the starter system it is in the add ons.RegardsJohn Spinks

bebop138
Bob, there has been ignition switches and soleniods on e-bay as of late---if you need the parts. I will be going to my old car yard in the near future---let me know if you could use the switch. Of course you would have to get a key made, unless I luck out..........52er
