Can anyone identify this wheel?

This is an 18 inch by 6 inch Buick wheel, five lugs, with Buick part #1320524 painted on it. My parts book does not list this, and I'm at a loss as to what it fits. I have two of these, and a wild guess would be for a 90-series Buick of the late 1930s/early 1940s? I don't think it is any older than that, because it looks like a fairly modern wheel. All educated guesses appreciated. Thanks.

Extra holes between bolts could put it as a 56-58 buick with pin type drum, thru rim, looks like a 6 inch wheel.

Is that for a 6.00/18 inch tire or the total diameter of the wheel? Tire size is measured from the inside of the tire or the lands on the rim where the tire bead rests when the tire is seated. Which would make it a 6.00/16? Dave!

Pete:

There was an optional 18" wheel offered on Buicks in the late 40's. They may

have only been available in Canada or northern tier states. Check the part number,

could it be 1330524? My Parts book shows Group 5.803, Part # 1330524 as 18" wheel,

1946-47 All.

By the way, your work on the Bugle is greatly appreciated. I think your articles

are really informative.

Sounds like they were made to get though the snow or rough roads of the north country better by offering more ground clearence with a bigger tire. Pete, I hope you were not offended by me stating the way a rim was measured. I use to help some friends in a local junk yard and you would not beleive the amount of people that would come in with the wrong dimensions on a rim because they would tell you the total hight of the rim. Learn something new everyday. . Yes, Love the Bugle and your efforts to make it splended! Dave!
