Can anyone tell me where I can find a cover for my rear mounted spare tire? This is on my 29 Oakland. The car had a cover years ago, when I purchased it, but it deteriorated, and I thru it away. The tire size is 550/19. Thank you.

What brand of tire is on your Oakland? The reason I ask, is that not all 550X19" tires on the market have the same outside measurements. If you have a Bedford 550X19, then you could buy a pre-made 19" cover from LeBaron Bonney. Those I know will fit the Bedford tire. If you have the BFG or Lester brands, then you may have to get into a custom made cover like REO Driver mentioned.

You're beginning to sound like a "migrant worker" from Coker Tire <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Sorry Rick, I couldn't resist busting you on that one.

Oakland, just so you know (in case you already didn't), Rick works for Coker Tire when they come to Hershey, and he owns his own restoration shop. Many of the cars that he has restored have taken top awards through AACA, and he's been known to do work on several cars owned by past national presidents of AACA. He is a really good resource on a lot of this stuff, so don't be afraid to pick his brain if you have a question.

Ok Rick, I'm done, time to step down from the podium <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The tires on my Oakland are Allstate. They are old tires, and I am going to replace 4 of them, but keep the spare. The spare looks good, but the 4 on the car have cracks along the sidewalls. I think the spare would be Ok to keep.
