It's a nice sunny Sunday afternoon had a great ride home from Hershey. If you're a Hershey Region member reading this THANK YOU!!!!!!! Flea Market sales were OK consedering the quality of the stuff I brought, Tuesday was the best day. I think eBay has taken the good items off the flea market tables, I'm just as guilty as the next guy for that. A 1932 Ford right rear fender was the only item I bought. Car show was GREAT, LOVED the fact that it was on GRASS. Brass cars and Classics look so much better on grass. The fact that it kept the K Mart, former tow cars in their trailers caused a few giggles from the Pre War folks. Room reservations were made for 2007, see ya there!

'37, did you notice which were the first group of cars to hightail it back to the trailers when it looked like rain? Hint, they had roll up windows and multi speed wipers. I second the show on grass being great. Too bad for the DPC, they should have a better spot. Thanks to the GM connection for bringing a spectaculor display. Seemed to be a lot of Oldsmobiles, for some reason.

I am continually amazed at your comments, Bob, with regard to later model ANTIQUE automobiles (that means automobiles manufactured 25 or more years ago Bob). We were there to the bitter end, as usual, in class 27A. We will not take a back seat to anyone, had our share of giggles and/or "oohs and aahs," w/o regard to any & all other year cars on display (*what year car did YOU bring this year, Bob?*), and were more than happy to be a part of this magnificent spectacle.

Best regards,

Steve from Stony Creek, CT

You guys are never happy! Asphalt? It's too hot. Grass? It's too muddy.

I thought the grass was great too, but boy, the walk back to my pickup was a killer. I'm still hopping around the house. Never even got a chance to see you Bob. Sorry about that. I did see one interesting flea market spot that had toy steam engines, and the neatest minuture machines for sales purposes of yesteryear. They had a small brass "treanching machine(brass gears, wooden frame, etc) that the girl thought her boss wanted 2 or $3,000 for. Woah! But, I've never seen anything like that before. Would look good behind glass in the "reck room" if you had expentible cash.

It was a super Hershey from a vendors point of view. Finally, no hassle entering and leaving the field each day. I was in the Green Field and it could not have been better. No mud either.

This almost escaped me but yes Doug there were quite a few Oldsmobile's, many of which I had a personal history with as I either arranged for purchase or for restoration. it was nice seeing my "old friends". The display WAS pretty phenomenal. Did you see the Cherry bed on the GMC truck???!!!

Anyway, when you are not "picking one me' you are helping out. Thanks for the help Monday night and thanks for coming over Sunday with the offer for help as well...you may be incorrigible and I may have just "outed" you but you are a good member and friend (you in too much trouble now?).

As for the display areas, next year will be better.

You know Steve, I wasn't too keen on having the showfield on the grass, but after having it there, I didn't think it was bad at all. There wasn't any dust, and had it gotten hot there would've been some nice shade. There were some complaints about the grass not being cut, but I found that by the end of the day that the grass had been flattened by vehicle and pedestrian traffic. As cars left, the only long grass that was left was underneath where the cars were parked.

With the judge's breakfast, and judge's administration both being in the Giant Center, and with the showfield being right out the door, I definately felt that the showfield should've stayed in the parking lot of the Giant Center, but after having the show on the grass, it was very nice. Aside from the convenience for the judges, the showfield was in a good spot.
