Guest msawdey
I'm trying to get electric wipers into my 1950 Dodge Wayfarer sedan. I got a setup that I think was from a 1950 Chrysler, but it has a couple of "fit" issues: the actuating arms are a bit too long (that I can fix), and the switch has too short a bushing to reach through the Dodge dash (that I am puzzling over). Anyone out there got the complete electric (2-speed) wiper setup for a '50 Dodge? Also, I'm missing one of the dust caps for the front hubs, and I can't locate a modern substitute that fits (1.904 inches, about 1 15/16 inches). Anybody got one for sale? Finally, I'm putting in (eventually) an overdrive transmission from a 1955 Plymouth (I know, the crossmember has to be moved forward about 11 inches!), but I have converted the car to 12 volts. Anybody got a '56, 12 volt OD solenoid for sale?Thanks,--Michael Sawdey
Guest imported_billmeyer
Why electric wipers? I sent my old vacuum unit off to www.wiperman.com and they rebuilt it like new. Works great... my car is also a '50 Wayfarer.
