"Pont-a-Mousson"... very rare. ( Also very French.)

Later four-speeds were the New Process A 833 ( non-overdrive).

How well did that particular trans hold up or were there even enough numbers to tell?

Was the purchase of these transmissions tied to Facel buying Chrysler engines?

I don't know much more about the P-a-M 4-speeds than what I have already shared... according to "Standard Catalog of Chrysler: 1914-2000", only about ten 1960 300-Fs were fitted with the four-speed...

I don't know if the French trannies were "fragile" or what; I can't imagine Chrysler putting something in their "beautiful brute" w/o thoroughly testing it and making sure it wouldn't "blow-up"... ( they certainly wouldn't have wwanted to to cripple their fire-breathing monster with a weak tranny !)

The New Process A-833's that came-out in '63 were good units, and fairly sturdy... I have one in my little '64 Valiant slant-six rag-top...
