This is long overdue, mainly because I was cameraless for a long time, but finally bought a new one. Here is the picture of my girl. She needs some work! I am actually thinking of painting her. I was thinking red, because her interior is red carpet and white seats.

Laura,

Please consider posting some pictures and telling "My Girl's" story in the Me and My Buick forum. This is a beautiful and prestigious Buick and would be of interest to a lot of the members.

Regarding painting... I'd suggest rethinking that due to the fact the existing paint looks relatively good from the one picture. It may be in good enough condition that a GOOD detail shop could make it look like new for a few hundered dollars vs several thousand for a paint job. Good detail shops can completely go over the entire car, from engine compartment to interior upholstery to exterior paint (even spot painting chips and dings) and cleaning of the convertible top. Have them provide references though before turning it over to them.Just a thought....

Congratulation in acquiring her and welcome to the BCA Forum. Hopefully you'll join the BCA and remember if you need anything, help is just a mouse click away <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Looks very nice elbee. Forgive my ignorance as I'm not very good with the "newer" Buicks...what year and model? Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about her.

She is a 1975 LeSabre Custom convertible.

The paint definitely looks better in the pictures than in real life, but I will look into fixing the existing paint job, vs. getting a new paint job. Burgundy was the original color. Somewhere along the line someone painted it orange. The person that had the car before me painted it back to burgundy, but in some spots you can see the old orange coming through. The car lived most of its life in San Diego, CA and as a result has some body rust. It bugs me when I see it, so I might want to take care of that at some point. Baby steps!

Well, if you look at the thread regarding my Wildcat's progress, you will see that baby steps, while it takes longer, are much easier to take and afford than an all out get her done attitude.

Take your time and enjoy.
