Fluid Drive Bellhousing Interchange *DELETED*

Pat,

As far as I know, the bell housings are the same for all FD/3-sp and FD/ M-5 & M-6.

Here's what's definitely different: Bell-housings from '51-'54 Chrysler/De Soto that had the Fluid-Torque coupling - bell-housing is deeper.

Here's what I don't know about: if there were any bell-housing changes going form the '46-'48 chassis to the '49 & later; the wheel-bases got stretched for '49, but wouldn't think that affected the BH...

While they weren't as "cheap" in manufacturing philosophy as Ford or GM, Chrsyler Corp kept things like bell-housing bolt patterns & tranny bolt patterns as consistent as possible... from about 1935 through '54...

Hope this helps...

'49-'51 De Soto should be same as '49-'50 Chrysler six, regarding bell-housing/ M-6.
