Guest brockway
Check "Internet Movie Cars Database" -website:http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?unknownThere are many mystery cars which need an proper ID. Many of the mystery cars are pre-1930 and are quite challenging to identify (like buses, trucks). We need experts there !
mrpushbutton
The Packard in "Rumor has it" appears to be a 1940 180 sedan. The car Stan and Ollie are driving in "two tars" is an early 20's Ford model T (the only car for L&H!). I can't tell you what a delight it is to see those stills (actually still frames) from "Two Tars". I am a silent film accompanist, have been for 25 years. The very first film I ever scored was "Two Tars". I still get calls to accompany it, and never grow tired of it. It is very difficult to get a good ID on many of the cars in that picture. I know that the car they are in front of (they back into it, starting the escilating melee) is a Studebaker.
Guest De Soto Frank
Fun site...I only looked at the first couple of pages...(could spend the whole night here!)...On page 2, the car in "The Hoosegow"( Laurel & Hardy) looks like an early '20s Locomobile... the boys are serving time, and on a work detail outdoors. The governor stops to inspect the progress of the work detail, and inevitably, a pick winds-up flying into the radiator of said Loco... the boys remove the pick, with the resultant geyser of water from the radiator, and a nearby cook tells them to "put some rice in that radiator ! That will stop that leak"...The rice does stop the leak, and shortly thereafter begins to exit the radiator filler in volcanic fashion...Goodness knows how many "T"s met their end at the Hal Roach studios !The pics from "Hog Wild" made me laugh out loud...On a subsequent page is a background that includes a 1920's Fageol truck - headlights mounted out on the fenders, somewhat like Pierce-Arrow... Guest brockway
For old car freaks I recommend a movie "Seabiscuit" (2003). This film has lots of old Buick's and Ford T's. Also a racing scene with a numerous vintage racing cars. See the film cars here:http://www.imcdb.org/movie_329575-Seabiscuit.htmlSome cars we haven't been able to identify. Attached is a one example of unknown race car.

CarlLaFong
I like the part in Seabiscuit where the year is shown as 1932, but they are driving a 36 Buick. Also, in another scene you can clearly see the Horseless Carriage plate on the car. I still liked the movie. Great old race cars.

I bought the film and now I just finished watching it. This movie has indeed, maybe not thousands, but at least hundreds of cars. Re-mastered picture quality was excellent. For a silent film it was very entertaining. It will keep me busy for the whole week. I just added first few cars from the movie to Movie Car database: http://www.imcdb.org/movie_19412-Speedy.html Now I need all the help I can get in identifying job <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />
