1948 Chrysler Windsor parts

I am in the process of cataloging some old Mopars that have been sitting in an old junk yard for 30-40 years. There are Plymouths, Dodges, Kaisers, Packards, Chryslers and more. The first car I am working on is a 48 Chrysler Windsor. The front grille is complete with all three bumper guards present, as is the front grille. The rear bumper is all there as is all the rear lights and bezels and emblems. The interior is shot, but all the hardware is there (radio, dual heater, gauges, knobs, escutchons, handles, steering wheel w/ center piece and horn ring, cranks, engine, tranny, glass, outside trim and original mopar yellow fog lights. If anyone is interested in these parts please email me. I am trying to see if it is worth my time to strip the cars and sell the parts. These parts are not NOS and have some pitting and need some work. If no one is interested.....it will end up in the scrap yard

At this time I'm really not sure whats out there. Now that you mentioned it, I really have to make sure the Chrysler is a 48. A lot of stuff is still interchangeable. I hate to see it waste away or be crushed.

Mark, I will check on these items this weekend and get back to you with pics. I know there is an original set of mopar fog lights in the trunk with the brackets. They would need to be rechromed.

I just bought a 48 chrysler, not sure of what parts are missing, however I do know it needs some of the outside trim, front fender chrome trim looks like grille extensions that are missing. I will get the car sometime between this weekend and the 12th of May so will know then and will list all parts I am interested in and you can contact me to let me know if you have any. Thanks

Hi there - sounds like you will be doing a real public service in saving some useful parts from the crusher. I live in Britain and finding parts for my 51 Windsor can be pretty difficult but now thanks to the internet not impossible.

I need window glass for passenger front window and rear passenger door vent but not sure if this is the same as 48 model. Also need various bits of chrome trim as mine is all pitted.

Good luck with your enterprise - remember on-line auctions are a lifeline to some of us!

I have a 2dr Windsor---could use any good exterior chrome trim pieces--headlight and tail light bezels-fender spears----any good pieces that aren`t full of pits---good sterring wheel?? Chrome does not need to be show quality---need it for a nice driver--stuff that would not need chroming----I could use the drivers side front headlight bezel for sure as long as it`s not cracked or broken---let me know what you have---------Thanks!!

'46 -'48 along with the early '49 were largely interchangeable but not necessarily between different models (Plymouth to Chrysler for instance). I am interested in either 1)a '46-'48 Chrysler cowl mount side mirror (I believe they were options) for both sides or 2) the cowl trim and clips for the same car. I believe these were interchangeable between Chrysler/ Dodge/ DeSoto only. Do not scrap, please. Offer it on craig's list for scap value first. mrushdoony@att.net

zack, i need a trunk light socket for my 54 windsor. the one that turns the bulb on/off with the movement of the trunk lid. the 52 might be the same. the 53 is. capt den

You need to run the MoPar # online/ ebay, AMS, Roberts, Len Dawson ...on and on....every week and join the National Chrysler club.

Then contact all owners of the same car...then you will have a chance of finding the mercury trunk lite.

I probably have one but am not going to spend hours digging parts...sorry.
