Skinned Knuckles Magazine ?

Anyone here subscribe to 'Skinned Knuckles' magazine? I'm letting my subscribtions expire on some of the other Rags, so thought I'd give that one a try, but I've never even seen an issue?

BTW, there's an interesting artical about the '56 Packard Predictor, in the May '06 issue of 'Classic Car' magazine. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I found out it was originally called the 'Projector'.

Skinned Knucckles is a good publication. I have not subscribed to it in over 10 years. SK seems to recycle articles about every 3 to 4 years so if u never had a subscription it will be something new and different for u.

SK is a VERY low budget, bare bones publication. Living up to its name it is mostly tech talk type articles. Certainly i can recommend the publication. It's different in a good kind of way.

Skinned Knuckles would be well worth giving a try if you like technical and how to articles. One thing I like is that the inside of the mag is printed on non glossy paper, it more fits the writing style. It's a small publication with more info and less advertising than most magazines out there.

Maybe we should have a new forum here called "Skinned Knuckles" or "Around the Garage" as i think most of us have had it happen at least once with bloody knuckles or burnt hands! I think there is enought tech knowlege here in this forum to write a good size book of stuff that is not in our Packard manuals, ie what fits what, the TL links modified, wireing, getting it apart etc.. the list goes on and on...

I am a charter subscriber, 31 plus years. However, when my current subscription runs out, I will allow it to gracefully expire. The founder/editor has retired and recently sold the magazine. The new owner/editor has a different approach to car restoration; plus it has been announced that a long-time columnist's column would no longer be included.

Jon, I'm only about a five year subscriber and I agree that the columnist you refer to, Matt Joseph, was a very important part of SK and a great writer. His articles were superb and I will really miss him (I think he said he will still occasionally contribute a piece).

I got the magazines and even tho they are very thin, I found that they are very interesting with good information. Since most magazine are 75% advertising, which this one doesn't have, I don't mind. But they do have some vintage ad reproductions, which are interesting also.

My late father was also a charter subscriber. I'd like to sell the collection as a whole. Anyone interested? Make me an offer

Why not donate them to the AACA Library. If it doesn't need them, the Library can sell them and use the proceeds for other acquisitions.

My collection starts in 1982 with a couple issues missing. And I am also in the south SF Bay Area. If Packard Don does not need or want all of them, I could be very interested.
