URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT

West Virginia Bill to Expand Use of Antique Vehicles Approved by House of Representatives

Legislation (H.B. 4307) that would amend the state?s current law governing antique motor vehicles to permit their use on Friday evenings was passed by the West Virginia House of Representatives. Under current West Virginia law, use of antique vehicles is strictly limited to club activities, exhibits, tours, parades, testing, obtaining repairs and for recreational purposes only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The bill now moves to the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for consideration.

We Urge You to Contact Members of the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (List Below) in Support of H.B. 4307

? H.B. 4307 will provide West Virginia citizens the opportunity to enjoy the occasional Friday evening pleasure drive or cruise in their antique vehicles.

? H.B. 4307 provides added incentive to owners of qualifying antique vehicles (more than 25-years old) to register as ?antique? thereby reducing registration fees. Antique vehicles are only required to pay a $2 annual registration fee.

DON?T DELAY! Please contact members of the West Virginia Senate transportation and Infrastructure Committee immediately by phone or e-mail to request their support of H.B. 4307. Please e-mail a copy of your letter to stevem@sema.org. Thank you for your assistance.
