Heres a picture of my 48 Lincoln engine, had a friend come over to help tune the carbs and the old V12 Lincoln enegine can hold its own with the 2x2 setup.

That must be a 6-volt alternator because your battery looks like it's 6 volts. My ('39 Zephyr convertible) generator seems to work OK, but the car gets out so seldom that I always put the battery charger on it for a couple of hours before going out - just in case. 1939 Ford products had that silly "battery condition" guage which doesn't tell much about the charging system.

I am working on a 48 Cv (not continental) Could you do a foto of the fire wall the side near the steering column. What I really could use is a photo on the inside near the ignition resistors, but that would be hard to get to.

Main jets are holley#51 when measured they are .048, im also running the power valves in both carbs, Stock Lincoln carbs. most people will tell you your vacuum will drop when putting on multiple carb but mine went up from 18hg to 20 hg.
