Thanks for the picture.

That must be a 6-volt alternator because your battery looks like it's 6 volts. My ('39 Zephyr convertible) generator seems to work OK, but the car gets out so seldom that I always put the battery charger on it for a couple of hours before going out - just in case. 1939 Ford products had that silly "battery condition" guage which doesn't tell much about the charging system.

I am working on a 48 Cv (not continental) Could you do a foto of the fire wall the side near the steering column. What I really could use is a photo on the inside near the ignition resistors, but that would be hard to get to.

Any help appreciated. Curt
