Guest carolinakregg
There is a number on a metal strip screwed into lower driver's side door jamb which I take to be the serial or VIN of the car.The number is 17145208. Can anyone tell me what the number means, i.e. interpret it? Thanks, Kregg [color:\\"black\\"]
Guest imported_MrEarl
Kregg, all that can be told by this tag (as far a I know anyway) is where the car was built. The first digit "1" says it was built in Flint. 2= Southgate3= Linden4= Kansas City5= Wilmington6= Atlanta7= Framinghamnow...how about sharing some photos of that ragtop Special
Guest imported_Thriller
On the firewall, there should be a body plate which has a bunch of codes on it...that information is much more conducive to being able to interpret information about your car.I looked at a '52 Special convertible a number of years ago - the owner was disappointed with what it was actually worth, so we couldn't come to a deal. Last of the straight 8s...nice car.
Guest DaveCorbin
Dear Kregg: I can add from my Buick frame number research that your car was built in Oct. 1953, probably early in the month. A prior post correctly stated that 1 denotes a Flint built car.Regards, Dave Corbin
