ThomasBorchers
Hello !What kind of oil should I use for my 1947 Lincoln. Perhaps a SEA 30 non detergent or a 20 W 50 ? I don't if the engine was restored in the past.GreetingsTom
Rolf
Had the same quandry recently Tom, good running old engine with accumnulated guck and sludge beyond belief. Acting on the advice of trusted experienced friends, I went with Valvoline hi-miler 20-50, 4 quarts, and 1 quart of marvel mystery oil, no real results yet, but it sounds snooth and has oil pressure, and the theory is that it will slowly clean out all the sludge and become normal again, stand by, Rolf
Guest imported_V12Bill
I have been using 20W-50 in my V 12s for summer use. I have good oil preasure and not too much blue smoke. Both engines have been rebuilt.Bill
ThomasBorchers
Hello !OK, thank you. Then I will try a 20 W 50 since it has an oil filter, it should be ok.Tom
