1948 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible Solid Project Rare Find

Recommended Posts

Just in yesterday!!!!

This car is 95% complete except for motor/trans. It was taken off the road in 1956 and put in storage. This is when the motor and trans were pulled for a rebuild. The car sat for approx. 10 years before it was moved into a lean to style shed. It was covered on top and two sides and was only slightly exposed. The odometer is showing 74,000 miles.

The body on this car is very solid and appears to be about 98% rust free. The car still had all of the tires and wheels on it, so the car was never sitting flat on the ground and the floors look pretty good. The wood is still there and not rotted away except for the lower part of the L. door. The wood is all weathered and will need replaced. Both doors and the original trunk lid are there.

The conv. top assembly does appear to be complete including the large, round locking knob in the center. This car does still have original dual outside mirrors along with a drivers side spotlight. The car does still have the T&C emblems on the hood, the speaker grill is correct, the rear ctr. bpr gaurd is there, the tailights, the original trunk hinges, and the metal inserts for the wood. The front end chrome still looks pretty decent for its age. It even still has the original hood ornament!

This car does come with a clear KS title. Since we just picked the car up yesterday from its 50 year slumber, we haven't had time to clean the car up and get a full set of tires on for pics. The pic. attached picture is exactly how we found the is extremely rare and desirable car. Once the car is ready, it will be listed on E-bay. Once the auction is ready, I will post the auction info on this site for interested parties. This car will need a full restoration, but with restored examples topping the $150,000.00 mark(Barret-Jackson results), the effort will be well worth it!

The car is ready to sell and was listed on E-bay last night. The reserve was met within the first hour of the auction, so the car will sell to the highest bidder! E-bay item #4586836091 If you are looking for a good conv. project car, don't miss this one!
