Wes Anderson
Hi, I have what I believe to be a model A engine block that has FORD script cast into it. I am told that this is unusual. Can anyone out there tell me what I have? The numbers I find on the engine are the following: S 31, 6068781 42-5Is it A or T?Is it something odd?Thankswes_anderson75@hotmail.com
1937hd45
Can you post a photo? You may have one of the 4 cylinder engines Ford produced for delivery trucks in 1941.

HarryJ
This appears to be a Model T style engine; it could be a N,R,or S.

1937hd45
Wes, That is a Model T Ford block. There will be a number stamped on that flat boss above the water inlet. A photo of the other side would help date it, from what I can see it is a 1925 or older block. Sand down that boss and let us know what the number is and we'll know the year it came from. 1937hd45
Just reread the original post, if 6,068,781 is the number stamped above the water inlet it was numbered in June 1922.
