Cheapest way to transport 2 cars

I am looking for the cheapest way to transport 2 cars from Dallas TX to Vincennes IN.

2004 Mustang and a 2004 Explorer. Cars were donated to Vincennes University and we need then transported. Not in any Hurry would like to have them by Sept.

Cars can not be driven on public streets, must be hauled. Open or dolly transport OK.

Any Ideas?

If you can get the Explorer street legal (or what prevents it from being driven there) and use it to toe the Mustang on a dolly.

When automakers donate new cars for educational proposes it state that the vehicle can never be driven on any public street and must be crushed when the school is finished using it. Usually the cars are carrier damage, customer buy backs, non EPA approved modifications and they do not want any liability. Unfortunately we have to crush a lot of valuable cars. Currently we have Toyota Tundra #00001 that will have to be crushed. Lots times we get prototypes and preproduction show cars. We have gotten Indy Pace cars based on the model year before car.

We have a Supercharged Riviera that is the year before the supercharger was an option.

It?s a shame but we have crushed some real desirable cars, IROCs, a GNX, lots of convertibles. We have a guy in our region who collect Indy Pace cars and he would die for some of the cars we have had, but we must show ?proof of total destruction.?

How sad. You would think that at the very least the really special ones could be donated later to a museum where they could be enjoyed by many and still not be driven.

unless you can find someone with a rollback or a flatbed trailer big enough for both cars, the cheapest way i can think of would be to rent a large u-haul or other box truck and a car dolly, use ramps and drive the Mustang into the truck and put the Explorer on the dolly, not sure how much it will cost but it should work aslong as the Mustand is secured very well

FORGET about using a rented box truck to haul a car. The insurance will not cover it, and it is stated in the fine print of the rental contract that it is illegal.

We found a a used car hauller to haul them for $650 each.
