My parents had this car in April 1955 in their wedding 50 years ago. It says Chrysler on the side but I can't tell what kind or what year?

I already sent it to Wayne B. and he said he would, if he has trouble then I will send it your way, Hoping he will be able to do it soon.

Thank you very much!

This site works even if the other one won't. Hoping some one can figure it out. It says Chrysler on the front fender but it has some thing under that we can not read.

My guess is it is a 1946-48 long wheelbase Chrysler. It could be a Windsor or maybe even an Imperial. The small writing possibly could say Fluid Drive.

Thanks Bob!

That works,

I found this picture and was hoping to piece more of a puzzle. Does this look like the right front end to the other car. I am not sure it's the same car but I know the people in the pictures and they were all at the wedding.

Thanks for all the help in this!!

It is Definately a 1946-48 Chrysler....still no real way to tell the model though...The first picture the car looks better...the chrome in the second looks a bit worn, but the grille does match the year. Chrysler offered 5 models...the Royal, Windsor, Saratoga, New Yorker and Imperial. It could be any of these.

This is a New Yorker or Imperial. Look at the lengths of the doors and the amount of legroom in the back seat. This is a long-wheelbase, seven-passenger sedan. There's a shine across the back of the front seat that looks like the sill of a divider window, so this could be a limosine.

It's definitely an eight-cylinder car from the length of the fender between the front wheel well and the front door, so the Royals and Windsors are out of the field of possibility.

Long wheelbase, limosine, eight cylinders... Looks like an Imperial to me, and Baron's right about 1946-'48.

Thanks every one!!

I think by looking close and putting my resulation as high as I could go when I scaned in the original I think it says Imperial. I check with our car club and no one has that kind of car so it looks like they might ride in our 1938 Royal if we get it painted in time. The inside won't be done but the out side will look good for pictures.

I knew I could count on you guys to figure it out!!
