Hi everybody

My Name is Bjoern and i Live in Denmark

This is the story of my Buick

i had the car in 8 years now ,it all started with

i decided that i wanted to find my self a Buick, i had a

1955 Ford before but thats another story, i studied the books

and decided that a 1952 Roadmaster 2 dr ht was just the car i wanted

i always liked the late fourtys early fiftes , and importent

the last year with straight eight, and many times i have regretet that choise

i made, the parts for the straight is expensive and hard to find

i contacted a person here in Denmark , who imported Cars from USA

and tolled him that i wanted a car like that , and the answer was

that is not an easy car to find, but he had knowledge of one here in

Denmark , and it was for sale , but there was a thing about that car

the engine dident work, because the owner had forgotten to put anti freeze

liuqed on the car wen it was stored for the winter

the engine block was cracked and useles

but i bought the car anyway , how hard could it be to find a engine

i joined the BCA and one day there was a add in the Bugle, NOS engine block

for a 52 Roadmaster for sale,i bought that and had it shipped over here

and for a couple of years i dident had the time or money to spend on the

Buick ,small kids, building on the house /garage,busy at work i think

most of you know what im talking about

but a couple of years ago things started to ligtning up i had tim to work

on the buick again , but it shouldent be easy , i found out that the crank

and camshaft i had from the eksisting engine ,was in bad shape the cam

was bended as a bow and the crank had rust on the bearing surfaces

for a time i was looking for a complete running engine but i couldent

find anything unless i wanted to buy a complete car and that wasent on the

budget ,then one day i came in contact with a Buick owner i sweden

and he tolled me that he had a spare engine from a 52 Roadmaster

it hasent been driving for many years but it was complete

but it wasent for sale, after 3 months me begging him to sell it to me

he gave up, i think he got tired of me

so i drove to sweden and brought home my engine

so putting together the best pieces from these 3 engines made one

complete engine

i have been working on the car all winter and her sunday 30 januar

i was ready to connect the battery a turn the starter on

and finally it runs and it runs good

i was out taking it for a little drive, the transmission worked fine

and everything is okay,

there is still a lot of work to do on that car, but the importent thing is

the engine runs

i hope you all enjoyed this little story even

there is a lot of spelling mistakes

Have a nice Buick day

Best regards

Hello Bjoern,

That's a beautiful Roadmaster.I went to the Roadmasters web and saw it there also. Neat web site too. Thanks for sharing your story, and don't worry about the spelling on THIS board, wright fokes?

I really admire your and your friends drive and fortitude in restoring these cars when parts aren't as availble as they are here in the states. Let us know if there is anything we can ever help you with. Parts and parts cars are relatively easy to find at present. It's the storage of the parts cars that is sometimes difficult. Neighbor just don't appreciate Buick yard art. Not even with morning glories growing over them. smirk.gif

So keep us posted on your progress. Are there any 1954 Roadmasters in your club?

Hi There

I'm "stupid-idiot-who-forgot-to-fill-antifreeze-in-my-roadmaster-and-then-had-to-sell-it" but you can call me Johnny blush.gif

I'm glad to hear you've overcome your struggles Bjorn, I will be looking forward to seeing it cruise around again.

Looking at those pictures makes my heart go flip, flop laugh.gif

My love for that old Buick made me buy another one recently. I found a 4 door Roadmaster on Ebay, and now I can't wait for the snow to melt !

Theres pictures of it on my website www.roadmaster.dk

and to MrEarl, I know of one 54 Roadmaster here in Denmark, and not only that but I believe it's a "Dora-clone" (or is that "Irene" ?)you can see it here

Bilgalleriet

Take care !

I know this is a little off-topic, but I know where there is a '52 Roadmaster for sale. It is complete and runs. At least it did a year or two ago when I saw it. If anyone is interested in it, email me at Dynaflo2@aol.com and I'll give you the contact info.

Bjoern, very nice job on your Roadie! You took on quite a project. It must have been a thrill for you when the engine first turned over!
