52super
Does anyone make a header or split exhaust manifold for a Buick straight 8? I am building a 52 mild custom and want dual exhaust.
The Old Guy
The 41-42 exhaust manifold is actually a cast iron header system that Buick used a "Y" pipe on. The problem with using it on a 52 is that the left motor mount interferes, and it is difficult to get a pipe on.
50bigbuick
I am restoring a 1950 Roadmaster and also doing a mild hot rod but can't bare to get rid of the cool old straigt eight. I found a set of the old dual manifolds from a 47 Whithch make dual exaust and dual carb a reality. On my car I simply cut down the factory engine mount off of the frame and flip the mount on the engine unside down. With that and a good exaust man is is possible. I have some pics of the mount I maid if interested let me know. PS old ford Holley bolt right on to the twin intake manifold and realy wake up these old cars.
