FYI. The remaining Packards at Bennies place in Luthersville, about 67 in all ranging from some early 40's pieces to 56 senior cars have all gone to the crusher. A sad tale to report.

That is awful! Al took me out to this location about 2 years ago, and it had some stuff that still could have been used. Did he crush all of the Lincoln stuff too? A sad way to see that stuff go....

A local salvage yard specializing in vintage Fords had a neat idea: They stored engines and other valuable parts out of the elements in old semi trailers scattered around the yard. I bought a short block assembly for a 292 Ford "Y" block right off one of these "show room floors." It was in great shape and is being used today.

Just thought some salvage folks or other interested mass part gatherers with the room would find this an interesting way to store those treasures. Each trailer can become its own "locked shed" by simply bolting the doors, and disabled so it can't be hitched up and moved readily. When it comes time to re-arrange the yard or sell a whole batch of items, the trailers can be rigged up again for travel.
