Guest J446
Greenwich Concourse was wet again. I left before it turned to mud. As she was already wet deceided to do some testing. Wipers work fine. AC demists. Tires are a tad wide for rain but get bite at speed. Don't forget to crank in a bit of opposite lock before standing on it. The wheels spin in the first 3 gears. She's back home drying out and dreaming of the Mulsanne. (It often rains during the 24) CLICK ON ATTACHMENT

R W Burgess
John, I know for a fact I'd kill myself in that car...on a dry road. Wide open throttle is all I know. A ride in it would be kool, though. Wayne
Guest J446
WOT. That would be 205...
ex98thdrill
Easy Wayne, that isn't a Diesel. Those gas engines aren't as forgiving as those 18-wheelers that you're used to
R W Burgess
205? Over twice my top driven speed of 96 mph back in 1982. !980 GMC cabover with a 435 hp Detroit Deisel @2350rpm, 13 speed overdrive Roadranger, 390 rear gears. Oh, and I was bobtailing in the rain. My passenger, another driver, was not happy. I have since come to my senses. Wayne
1937hd45
I must have missed an update, is this a stable mate to #2? What is the history on this car? Some day I'll get to the Greenwich Concours, even on a rainy day it is only 30 minutes away.
Pierce66
Wow...an antique car that will "peel rubber" in three of its gears ? Hey J446 what kind of antique are you talking about - that dosnt sound like the antique cars I work with. By the way, where are you in New York City area. Do you know about the old Vanderbilt Motor Speedway ? It ran right behind our house-in fact, sections of it are still there.Dog Spot
Guest J446
HiI've owned this Lola since 1971. It's a 1967 T-70 (Chassis SL71-32) that began as a Can Am Race car owned by Pensky/Donohue (#6 Sunoco Special) It won several races and passed on to John Meyers who drove it to 4 SCCA A Sports Racing titles and set the all time MT Equinox Hillclimb record. When I was young and crazy I used to drive it in it's open Can Am form at 2am. up NY's 684. It now has a coupe body, T-70's raced as coupes and spyders and are wonderfull to drive. Ron Green
Nice car. Its a shame it has rained the past 2 years. I had a vehicle entered 3 years ago and it was so hot and humid it was unbearable. I received a note from Bruce a month ago about bringing a car up next year so maybe if I do the hot weather will return?
1937hd45
What would be more of a rush, flat out on 684 or across the saddle going up Mt. Equinox? I knew John Meyers was "King of The Hill" but never saw a photo of the car. Glad it is restored and being properly cared for.
Guest J446
I would have to say 150+ through the saddle would be quite a rush!
