rootesman
I'm trying to remove the door trim panel from my 1954 New Yorker Newport and I have the panel separated from the door, but can't seem to find access to two?screws that hold the arm rest on the door. The manual says to "remove the armrest", but that's all. Is there someone who has done this? Thanks in advance.
jps383rb
have you checked under arm rest? sometimes you have to remove arm rest pad, 2 screws underneath, should give access to arm rest mounting screws
rootesman
Thank you for your suggestion. This arm rest was totally covered and no screws were visible. After poking, prying, bending, reaching, and inventing new words,I found that a sharp rap to the rear of the arm rest slid it forward off two protruding round head screws. It's really easy when you know how! I don't want to tell you how many hours it took me to find this out.
