1952 59R Estate Wagon Questions

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a '52 Series 59R Estate Wagon, which is pretty much a basket case. I feel I can do the wood eventually, and have purchased an original '52 Ionia parts manual/catalog, as well. This will at least give me a rough idea of the number, size and shape of the ash components. Some of the originals are still there, but some are completely rotted away. Does anyone have any experience with these? I know about the outfit in Nevada which wants $11,000 for a kit in the rough. But, I think I can do it myself over a few years, with patience. Any thoughts? Also, even though this was a California car, the floor pan's pretty much gone as well. Any oufits which make those up, say in sections? I've seen the '50 59R website for the guy restoring his in Texas, but no response to my questions.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm in eastern Massachusetts - Thanks -Chris
