Brand new to this forum. Just starting on this project. Unit in very good condition. Pretty much unaltered condition with 32000 showing on odometer. Need information on engine, waterpump, distributor and source for parts.

Engine runs but water pump leaks, service brakes poor but show good friction material, E brake works well!!

Missing 2nd. gear. Supposedly "taken out". In process of taking off top of tranny and checking this out. What was original shift pattern? First is at top left, reverse at bottom left, next good gear is a bottom right. Seems too tall for 2nd..

Large shive on drive shaft behind seat? What for? Has no way to control, runs with drive shaft. Could not be a take off as unit has to move forward to operate?

Can't give a good answer on the pulley on the driveshaft, except that last fall I looked at a '49 Chevy 6400 series truck that had been a Howe fire truck, retied and converted to a flatbed.

It had a three or four-groove pulley on the driveshaft, right behind the cab...no idea what it drove, but this truck had it too...very nice condition; 12,000 original miles, six new tires, new brakes...

Good Luck with your fire-wagon!
