Guest
While restoring the wiring on my 57 Century, I noticed the fuse block hanging by its wires in the area of the parking break pedal. Can anyone tell me where the fuse block was originally mounted and by what means. Thanks, Wayne. Pontiac59
should mount with a bolt or screw through the center of the block, if I remember correctly. It won't hurt it to be loose as long as the electrical connections are good, you may have to find a parts car and unbolt the fuse block to determine where the correct hole is located. Guest
Thanks for the reply, Are you saying it should bolt to the fire wall ? I'll keep looking for another 57 but they seem to be pretty scarce around here.
DugsSin
On my '57 Roadmaster the fuse block slides into a U shaped bracket that fits around the back and two sides of the block. The side towards the parking brake has a built in springy thingy to release/hold the fuse block. There is a single arm coming off the U bracket that is connected to the parking brake assembly with a single bolt. This bolt is located just under the parking brake electrical light switch and appears to be used just for holding the fuse block. Hope it makes sense.
