Amphicar BUYER Posted February 11, 2004 Share Posted February 11, 2004 I am back from my 4100 mile road trip. We opted not to do the NYC leg due to the weather. The bad weather that would have been along the return trip and the 73 degree weather in Tampa convinced us.We got "Weird Harold" the Amphicar delivered and set up along with Tommy's 1957 Lonestar Meteor boat at the Florida state fair in Tampa. Then we went with Tommy (owner of Weird Harold) to his lake for a swim in his other Amphi. The engine quit and we had to paddle it back to shore with the licence plate! (yea, we know what a paddle is!) The only problem is the alligators will make you think twice when getting out in the water to pull it up on shore. No problem, just more adventures in Amphicar-dom.We stayed in a friends duplex on Indian Shores Island, in the Gulf of Mexico. Super people and a great place to spend Superbowl weekend.
