Rolf, thanks for the tip. Just in time, I was going to buy some at the large vintage Ford site when I read your post. Went to a vintage VW site got a brand name then to J.C. Whitney. Don't know the size they sell but it looks pretty good. Four colors. Empi Fender Beading, 25 ft. for $6.95. I know its not for the purist, but hey, my car will never be in the winners circle, but it will look good from 10 feet away.

Make that 25.

Yes Kieth, that is what my friend out here did with his '39, and he swears it is identical after it is installed, but I think it is solid, and a trifle shinier than the original, right guys?? But I am with you, and that is what I am going to use in my '41 after it is painted. Trouble is, 25 ft is fine for the little fenders on a bug, but a trifle short for a LZ, well maybe you can fudge the skirt welting with it too, even though it is a skosh larger actually, and pretty expensive, Ms Terhune, who advertises in The Way Of The Zephyr sells that stuff, good luck, Rolf

O.K. Here's the 411. (INFO) I went to the VW parts counter

and the welting is made of plastic. I found that The

"Mid Fifty F-100 Parts" (Name of company.)1-800-252-1956

has the welting in leather looking covering the rubber hose

inside. I have a sample and it's more Lincoln looking. (Looking good)

blush.gif:It cost about $25.00 for 20 foot.

After the hard work of removing the fenders & repairing the body

and a new paint job, what a few more dollars to make it last???
