Guest imported_oldmitchell
I am looking for lugnuts for my brass era car (split rims that come off the wooden wheel). Any leads?
Old Crabby
Do you mean the nuts and wedges that mount on the outside of the felloe and retain the split rim? or are you referring to those large cast brass thumbscrews that one sees on the inside of the felloe between the spokes of very early cars? Guest EMF-Owner
I have a whole bunch of these. If you can give me a description of what you are looking for or better yet a picture, I can see if I have a match. I only have the wedges, I do not have nuts. Please let me know. Guest stude8
I have about dozen odd ones, some even have "Buick" cast on them. Just setting in coffee can waiting for right car to pull in looking for one. Post a photo with a ruler in next to what you want and I'll dig out the collection and check for you. Chris Bamford
If you have at least one or more of the correct type wedges, you can perhaps cast more. I did that for my '12 Kissel wedges and the aluminum-bronze castings even reproduced the wheel manufacturer's script acceptably well. The nuts had to be machined from hex stock to get sufficient flats height and the proper (inner) conical end.Chris
