Guest
A local junkyard, of all places, has pulled in a 1951 Chrysler Windsor Traveler, a big 4d sedan with a fold-down rear seat, which allows the carrying of items big enough to fit between the trunk and the back of the front seat. The car's a sedan-station wagon hybrid. The Langworth-Norbye "Complete History of the Chrysler Corporation, 1924-1985," mentions that Chrysler revived the Traveler in 1950 after a two-year absence. The "Std. Cat. of American Cars, 1946-1975," gives the 1950 Traveler production as a mere 900 but doesn't give a Traveler production figure for 1951. So I'm wondering ... does anyone know the '51 production figure? Can anyone tell me more about the rarity, desirability & features of the Chrysler Traveler?
