imported_Phil Knapp
Taking the body off a Lincoln Zephyr will likely ruin the car. all Lincoln Zephyrs are unit body cars and removing the body from the frame is not a recommended procedure. To restore the underside of these cars requires a rotisserie.
Guest imported_V12Bill
Mercula, Don't take the body off||||||| The alignment of the doors will be almost impossible to obtain. Or at least very difficult. In an older issue of The Way of the Zephyr was an article on making rockers to bolt to the bummper brackets out of 3/4 inch plywood. with the body completely striped down you can roll the body and frame over on its side supported by the rockers fand sandblast , weld, and paint the underside. I did this with my convertable and it worked out fine. It needed a complete floor fand cowl and quarter panel repirs. Wives don't like to see piles of iron like this in the back yard though.
